Bukelwa Nzimande is a PhD Candidate at the Power Futures Lab. Her research focuses on distributed energy and power sector transitions, with a special focus on the democratization of energy in South Africa. Bukelwa previously worked as a climate, energy and sustainability professional involved in research, capacity building and communication, policy development processes, and project management. Bukelwa is a social and environmental justice activist who has contributed and led related projects within civil society organisations. She is committed to the pursuit of inclusive and progressive work presenting contextual and intersectional solutions to the development challenges in society.
