Derek is responsible for the UCT GSB’s recruitment strategy for its academic programmes and works closely with various stakeholders. This includes major corporations, other business schools and global organisations supporting graduate management education around the world and across the region and country, in support of the GSB’s recruitment and admissions goals.  His role is to expand and develop the UCT GSB’s relationships and networks with global, regional and South African stakeholders; and work closely with key role players across the school and university to coordinate admissions and recruitment activities for each UCT GSB academic programmes. Derek also oversees applications and admissions processes and communications for all academic programmes across the GSB.

After over 20 years of experience in corporate, which was mainly in financial services and banking, Derek joined the UCT GSB where he has 8 years experience in Business Development and Executive Education at the school.  Derek holds a Honours degree in Organisational Psychology, a PGDip and also a Masters degree in Leadership Coaching.
