Renshia Manuel's social enterprise, Growbox, is the subject of a teaching case study published by the UCT Graduate School of Business.
What began as a project conceived out of the need to feed her children, has evolved into a shining example of sustainable food gardening. "It's not just about giving someone a veggie box, but about teaching and upskilling them as well," she says. Growbox teaches concepts like seed catching, using recycled food such as kitchen waste, and all the things needed to enable people to keep growing and even increase their yield, so they can feed themselves and their communities.
