Event information

Join us at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town, for the first in a series of G20 events in 2025. The purpose is to deepen understanding of the G20, its importance, and its potential to address the themes of solidarity, inequality, and sustainability. With a keynote address followed by panel discussions with experts, we will foster cross-sectoral dialogue to develop actionable strategies for leveraging the presidency to create meaningful impact.

As the only African member of the G20, and with the African Union joining for the first time, South Africa must amplify the voices of developing nations and help to address pressing global challenges such as inequality, climate change, and economic disparities. This is a historic opportunity for South Africa to demonstrate leadership on the global stage and foster collaboration to address the critical issues of inequality and sustainability. In working together across sectors and elevating the voices of all stakeholders, this event will serve as a catalyst for inclusive and impactful engagement with the G20 platform.

Private sector, public institutions, civil society, philanthropy, and think tanks—must engage in shaping the G20’s priorities and outcomes. Together, we can ensure that global governance systems work to reduce inequality and advance sustainable development for all.
